As I become more acquainted with the computer jargon, I've discovered that there are important buttons you have to be careful with, and I've learned how important it is to press the right button if you want to escape the most unwelcome messages and advertisements.

If this is so important in the use of the everyday computer, how much more important it is with our computer brain. To pursue and maintain the spiritual health of our minds, pressing--as it were--the right mental buttons of "read" or "delete," is essential.

So let us all pay attention to the admonition by the apostle Peter in I Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary (e-mailer) the devil as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour." We have been given also the assurance by Paul in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Open your Bibles and read Philippians 4:8, and I trust you will press the right buttons.

And now, my friends, all that is true, all that is noble, all that is just and pure, all that is lovable and gracious, whatever is excellent and admirable--fill your thoughts with these things. (New English Bible)
