I just returned from another Friday Night trip into San Francisco. A group of us from the PUC Church spent an hour on Polk street handing out Hot Chocolate and Dorito's to anyone who would take them. During the hour on the street we spent our time walking several blocks and we eventually made a couple of round trips up and down these blocks. On our second trip we stopped to visit with Tim. Tim gratefully accepted the Hot Chocolate and Dorito's. he told us that he had been sick and in his room for four days and only that evening had he had the chance to get out for fresh air. We were glad that he was feeling better and that we chanced to meet.

As we were getting ready to leave, we asked Tim if there was anything that he would like us to pray about. He asked us to pray that a friend, Patty, would return with his jacket, one that he had loaned her earlier. He then told us about another guy, also named "Tim" who he was going to share his room with that night. He told us, "when someone has the same name as you, you got to help them out!"

We prayed with Tim and then walked on. It wasn't until later that I realized the way Tim showed me Jesus. He took his leather jacket and his small room and shared them with people in need. I went out onto the street to share a little of God's love and to hand out come hot chocolate, but in return I saw Jesus in the life of Tim. He was sharing what he had. Isn't that what God asks of all of us? Share what you have.

John answered, "The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same." Luke 3:11

Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:13
