On the first day of our vacation on the Island of Maui we woke up to a rainbow. It wasn't just any rainbow. It was a double, full arc rainbow of the brightest hues you can imagine. The palm trees framed it as their leaves rustled in the breeze. The ocean waved in gentle rhythm at its feet. And I was awestruck. "God, you are alive and speaking to me!" I thought as my mind tried to comprehend what I saw. Of all the years I have seen rainbows, this was the most beautiful and the most alive. And it was an "aha" moment for me. I realized anew that God is very much alive, is right with me, and He assures me in glorious ways that His promises are constant and forever. He is with you too and His promises are for you too. Next time you see a rainbow, remember that. And remember that rainbows come after the rain, after the clouds, after the storm, just when we need reassurance the most. Take time to look at the rainbows. God is Good! --Norma Osborn |
