DOING LIFE . . . TOGETHER
Information for Leaders
We’re looking for people who would enjoy being the leader
of an interest group. You don’t have to be a pro in the
subject, just a desire to help facilitate people getting
together.
So what are a leader’s responsibilities?
Helping people come together to form a specific interest
group and then leading and guiding it in a supportive atmosphere
where you welcome all—Adventists
and community residents—to participate. You are asked to exemplify the
best qualities of a mature servant-leader through words and deeds and on behalf
of God.
Will I be the leader for a long time?
That’s probably up to you and the group. You should be helping
to develop others in your group that will be able and willing
to carry the future leadership.
How long does the group last?
We are suggesting that participants commit for about
one quarter—anywhere from 9 to 13 weeks, depending of
course on the nature of the group. Then the group members can
assess continuing interest and make a decision—even to
stay as a group but pick a new subject to explore.
Do participants have to stay with the same group?
By no means. No one is forced to stay. It’s supposed to
be fun and relationship building, and if it isn’t a good
match, participants can join another group—even in the middle
of a commitment period.
How will people find out about my interest group?
You will use many of your own ways, but the PUC Church
will be helping greatly through continuing announcements and
listings of the groups and leaders. And initially and ongoing
will be “application” type forms that ask people
to indicate their desire to join a group. They will then be
directed to you. You won’t feel stuck, the overall leaders
will certainly be helping you.
Will there be overall leadership meetings?
Yes. At least once each year all interest group leaders
will be invited to meet and talk about the direction
and success of the groups. Resources and encouragement will
again be in great supply.
Is this considered a “ministry” of
the PUC Seventh-day Adventist Church?
Yes. Thus the groups are called to respect the high privileges
of belonging to the Christian faith.
Please indicate that you agree with the “Information for
Leaders” on
this page and fill out the registration form.
Yes, I agree with
the “Information for Leaders" as outlined on this
page
No, I do not or can not agree with
the “Information
for Leaders as outlined on this page
(Since we want the
leaders to agree with the items, they can not currently
be a leader, since they don’t agree. So if they click here
they will be taken to another page that says “We are sorry
that you can not agree with the leader items the DTL
team has identified.” Then
say that “You will be contacted within a week about being
a leader.” They can be a member but not a leader if they
don’t agree.)

will receive a response within one week. |
