Summary of What the Group Does:
The goal of the group is to grow local interest in this
amazing hobby. You are welcome to join us whether or not
you have your own equipment and no matter what age you happen
to be. In fact, if you are considering buying equipment,
experiencing the varied equipment of others is the best way
to fine tune what would be best for you before making a purchase
mistake. As
the group grows, we may set up regular meetings, but
for now, we play it by ear and get together when we can for
special events or for nights when the seeing conditions are
best, communicating with each other via email. Your particular
level of involvement is up to you. Our big event of the
year is the Messier Marathon…a
dusk to dawn local event when all 110 Messier objects
can be seen in one night. This is a great time for all and
can be enjoyed as a rookie or as a novice.
