Summary of What the Group Does:
Writing a book is easy. All you have to do is put one
word down after another. Then, somewhere along the way in the
process, you’ve written your last word and your book manuscript
is complete. Then comes the question: will the book editor of
a publishing company buy my manuscript for publication?
Do you
enjoy writing, or do you want to be a published author
without the “pain” of writing? We’ll talk about that
all-important question and many more.
In a get-together, perhaps
once every two weeks, we’ll talk about all kinds of matters
relating to writing, and, yes, also to publishing a
book. And if you want to suffer the “pain,” we’ll
try to lead you successfully through the process. But we need
you to come regularly. Three consecutive misses from the sessions
and you’re out. We’re looking to make you a successful
book-writer, not a wannabee.
Herbert Ford, an emeritus
professor of journalism at Pacific Union College, will
host the sessions. He is the author of eleven books, one of them
a best-seller published in five languages, and several
thousands of magazine articles and news stories.
